Dance Thread is a project of Vital Spark North, a multidisciplinary performance group under the direction of Erika Schmidt. The Dance Thread project came about as a way for our dance community to stay connected and creative in the midst of the pandemic. Most dancers met weekly through the fall and winter to attend Zoom dance classes to help us maintain health of body and mind. Dancers typically work together in the creation of live performances and since we could not do that the Dance Thread project was our solution to working in isolation while communicating via video sharing. Each dancer created their own dance solo which was to start in a position that matched the ending pose of the person ahead in the order of appearance.
