A Perfect Picture by Laurent Pitre
May 15 @ 10:00 am – May 16 @ 11:30 pm
SYNOPSIS: “A Perfect Picture” tells the tragic story of South African war photographer Kevin Carter, who, in 1994, won the Pulitzer Prize for an iconic photo depicting the terrible famine in Sudan. The play examines the immense impact that image had on the world and on that photojournalist’s life. Furthermore, the “vulture-like” insatiable appetite for fame, violence, and entertainment that permeates Western society is exposed through the character of the Vulture, who aims to shed light on the voyeuristic nature of mass media and the persecution of individuals who challenge the established order. Filmed at the Centaur Theatre. (Rated : PG-13. Length: 1:07:03 hour).
